

Using archival conservation techniques, dirty or damaged taxidermy and models are restored as closely as possible to their original, naturalistic condition. Reasonable restoration and cleaning rates. Specific services include (but are not limited to):
• cleaning fur, feathers and scales, removing oils, dust and dirt
• stabilizing fragile areas and repairing breaks
• rebuilding shrunken tissue
• filling and obscuring holes, scratches and dings
• hiding mounts, stitching, or other flaws
• recoloring faded areas
With degrees in biology and art, Taxidermy Restoration's artisans have extensively worked with and restored vintage models and taxidermy at the American Museum of Natural History and The Bronx Zoo, and have broad additional art exhibition experience. All specimens and models are handled with utmost care.

For example:
Restored taxidermy capybara and pangolin, among many other mammals. Work included rebuilding ear and foot, repairing split in leg, recoloring facial features, hiding abdomen stitching and overall cleaning.

Repaired and recolored numerous vintage wax amphibian models. Faded skin coloring was repainted and given a damp sheen.

Restored taxidermy rattlesnake. Work included extensive cleaning and degreasing, stablizing loose scales, recoloring faded distinctive pattern, making surface reflectivity evenly 'scaly'.

Restored taxidermy seaturtle. Work included extensive cleaning and degreasing, stablizing flaking shell, regluing and shaping fin leather, recoloring faded skin and shell.

Painted and refined numerous fish taxidermy and models.
